#Must #Read #it... لاہور کی بیکن ہاؤس نیشنل یونیورسٹی میں بے حیائی کا ایک اور سنگ میل اسوقت عبور کیا گیا جب کچھ لڑکیوں نے یونیورسٹی کی دیوار پہ بہت سارے زنانہ استعمال کے پیڈز لگا ڈالے۔!!! یہ فحش احتجاج اس بات پہ کیا جا رہا تھا کہ حیض کے عمل کو عورتوں کیلیئے شرمندگی کا باعث نہیں ہونا چاہیئے اور یہ کہ ایسا کیوں ہے کہ خواتین کو سٹورز پہ مخصوص پیڈز خاکی لفافوں میں چھپا کر لینے پڑتے ہیں اور ان ایام کا ذکر کرتے ہوئے شرم محسوس کرنی پڑتی ہے؟ ان ایام کو مخفی کیوں رکھا جاتا ہے اور یہ کہ اسکے ساتھ جڑا گندگی اور ناپاکی کا تصور تو بالکل بے بنیاد ہے کیونکہ یہ ایک فطری نظام ہے۔!!! اور شرم و حیا کی ساری حدیں اسوقت پار کر دی گئیں جب ان لڑکیوں نے اپنی سفید قمیضوں پر سرخ دھبے لگا کر "نارمل انداز" میں دیگر لڑکوں کے ساتھ ایسے دن گزارا "جیسے کچھ ہوا ہی نہ ہو‌۔"!!! لبرل ازم کے ثمرات آہستہ آہستہ سامنے آنا شروع ہو گئے ہیں جس پہ یقیناً ہمارے لبرل وزیراعظم بہت خوش ہونگے۔ انہیں اور اس قسم کی قبیح حرکات کو سپورٹ کرنے والے تمام لبرلز کو چاہیئے خود بھی اس کیمپین میں بڑھ چڑھ کر حصہ لیں۔ مہم کو مذید مؤثر بنانے کیلیئے کچھ مشورے ہماری طرف سے مفت میں حاضر ہیں: ۔۔ استعمال شدہ پیڈز کو پھینکنے کی بجائے اپنے اپنے گھروں کی سامنے والی دیواروں پہ آویزاں کیا کریں تاکہ ہر گزرنے والے کو پتہ چلے کہ یہ کوئی گندگی کی علامت نہیں ہے۔

According to Scroll.in, students Mavera Rahim, Eman Suleman, Mehsum Basharat, Noor Fatima, Sherbaz Lehri and Asad Sheikh wanted to protest aesthetically against something as part of a college assignment, and they choose this issue to be able to bust taboos surrounding it. Mavera Rahim even took to her Facebook wall and uploaded a picture of the wall covered with pads, with a long caption, explaining why the group choose to do this particularly. In India, at a lot of places still, menstruating women are not allowed to enter temples or even the kitchen. “Several women contract diseases because they are not fully informed of hygienic practices when it comes to menstruation because very few people will actually discuss it,” Mavera said. “Over centuries and across different cultures, people have approached menstruation differently, some celebrating it and some shaming menstruating women. Our idea was to break this taboo around the subject in our society.” With bold initiatives like these, we’re sure the word ‘period’ will enjoy a free-er environment soon enough!
